What we do

The everyday things that get harder, handled with care

Mix and match during each visit. Most clients choose a standing weekly visit that covers groceries, a few meals and whatever else the week needs.

Weekly Essentials

A standing weekly visit: the grocery run, putting everything away, a fridge and pantry check, a meal or two cooked, and the mail sorted.

2 to 3 hours, weekly

Cook & Stock

A week of home-cooked meals, portioned and labelled for the fridge or freezer, from your recipes or ours.

About 4 hours

Errand Run

Pharmacy pick-ups, the post office, returns, dry cleaning and library books. We go; you stay warm.

Up to about an hour

Paperwork & Tech Help

Mail, forms, bill reminders and booking appointments, plus a patient hand with phones, tablets and video calls.

1 to 2 hours, or add to any visit

Company & Check-ins

Coffee and conversation, a walk around the block, a card game or a bit of tidying, with a note to the family afterwards.

How it works

Simple to start, easy to stop

  1. Tell us what would help

Register your interest online. It takes about three minutes.

  2. Meet over coffee

A free, no-obligation visit to get to know each other, see the kitchen and plan the first few weeks.

  3. Sign up at your own pace

We email a short service agreement to read and sign when you’re ready. Never on the spot.

  4. Same helper, same time

Visits settle into a routine, and after each one you and the people you choose get a short update.

Is it a good fit?

Honest about what we are, and what we aren’t

A good fit if you, or your parent:

  • live at home and are safe on your own between visits
  • would like help with groceries, cooking, errands or paperwork
  • value routine: the same person at the same time
  • have family, nearby or far away, who’d appreciate a short update

Not the right service if you need:

  • help with bathing, dressing, toileting or moving around
  • medication management or nursing care
  • rides to appointments
  • someone present overnight or all day

For those needs, we’ll gladly point you to the right people: Ontario Health atHome in Ottawa, or your local CLSC in Gatineau.

Questions

What families usually ask first

Is this home care?

No. We provide non-medical household help: groceries, cooking, errands, paperwork and company. We don’t provide personal care such as bathing, dressing or toileting, nursing, or help with medication.

If those needs come up, we’ll help you find the right support, such as Ontario Health atHome in Ottawa or your CLSC in Gatineau.

Will it be the same person every time?

Yes. Each client has one regular helper, at a regular day and time. If your helper is ever away, we’ll tell you in advance and reschedule rather than send a stranger.

How do you handle money for groceries?

We never handle cash. Usually we pick up your online grocery order, so nothing changes hands. Otherwise we use a small prepaid balance that we top up with your permission. Every purchase is billed at cost with a photo of the receipt.

How much does it cost?

$62 per hour, or $45 per hour for a standing weekly visit, with a 2‑hour minimum. An errand run is $60 flat. Sales tax is extra, and purchases are billed at cost.

Can I claim this on my taxes?

In Québec, if you’re 70 or older, the tax credit for home-support services for seniors can refund 40% of eligible expenses. We provide compliant receipts. In Ontario, household help generally isn’t eligible. Eligible veterans may be covered by Veterans Affairs Canada’s Veterans Independence Program.
