Kept Close is a family-run business based in Ottawa, serving both sides of the river in English and French.
Why we started
Plenty of older adults are doing well at home. What gets harder is the heavy grocery bags, cooking for one, the pile of mail and the forms that keep arriving.
Home care agencies are built mainly around personal and health care, often with rotating staff and minimum hours that don’t suit this kind of help. Families, especially those who live far away, just want to know things are okay.
We started Kept Close for that gap: practical help with the week’s essentials, from one consistent person, with a short update after every visit.

Before your first visit, you’ll be able to see:
- A current police vulnerable sector check
- First aid and CPR certification
- Proof of liability insurance
- References you can call
Our commitments
What you can count on
- We arrive when we say we will, and call ahead if anything changes.
- We never handle cash, bank cards, PINs or passwords.
- We keep a receipt for every purchase and bill it at cost.
- We respect your home, your routines and your way of doing things.
- We keep what we see private, and share only with the people you choose.
- We tell you honestly if your needs go beyond what we do, and help you find the right support.
Growing carefully
We’ll add helpers only when we can keep the same standard: police-checked employees rather than gig contractors, each trained side by side before visiting anyone on their own. Every client keeps one regular helper.
